The Top 5 Reasons We Choose Squarespace over WordPress for Our Customer’s websites.

Dynamic Designs has been a successful player in the industry for over 30 years, and our commitment to our clients' success has been the cornerstone of our journey. In this article, I'd like to share the top 5 reasons why customers choose Squarespace as their website platform.

If you've been a client of Dynamic Designs, you may recall our previous partnership with a local website company almost four years ago, during which we utilized the WordPress platform for our clients. At that time, we had an internal team of website designers and coders, and while it initially met our needs as we rapidly expanded our client base to around 75, we found ourselves unable to dedicate the necessary time and resources to our clients and the WordPress platform amidst our other service offerings of promotional products and branded apparel to name a few.

We discovered that WordPress was challenging to maintain, particularly if one aimed to adhere to best practices. We firmly believed, and still do, that WordPress is a cumbersome website builder with its own set of issues. While some may argue otherwise, this was our experience. Our clients encountered difficulties in making changes to their sites, often finding the process confusing and, without our assistance, struggled to implement the desired modifications.

This led us to the realization that it was in our best interest to partner with a website company specializing in WordPress. Consequently, most of our clients transitioned to a new company for their website hosting and maintenance services. Despite this shift, as a marketing company, we continued to engage with many of our clients in other areas such as decorated apparel and promotional products, allowing us to remain closely connected with them, and understanding their needs and challenges.

It was during this time that we stumbled upon Squarespace, a website builder that instilled in us a sense of confidence. So much so, that I even invested in the company's stock when it went public. We found Squarespace to be swift in design, user-friendly for the average person to manage, and effortless to maintain due to its all-in-one dashboard. Additionally, it offered a more cost-effective monthly solution for our clients, allowing us to provide them with savings. We developed our own site using Squarespace and were thrilled with the results. We had discovered a product that enabled us to create a website and then transfer it over to our clients for their own editing, updating, and maintenance. Should they require our assistance, we could easily access the dashboard to help them for an hourly rate. It was a win-win situation for all parties involved.

Our discovery of Squarespace, was not an accident, and would not have been possible had we not persisted in our search for knowledge. This underscores the importance of continuous learning in our eyes. Today, I want to share with you the top reasons why Squarespace might be the right fit for your business or organization.

  1. Analytics are integrated within the platform, which I consider to be one of its key benefits. Prior to Squarespace, we had to generate reports in Google Analytics and send them to our clients via email. After transitioning clients to the new website company, I discovered that many of them ceased receiving these reports. Each year, we had to re-establish the Google Analytics reporting, and some clients missed out on the reports due to limitations in their monthly hosting packages. I strongly believe that analytics are crucial for gaining insights into your company, as they measure the performance of email campaigns, blogs, and much more, providing valuable information that can enhance your effectiveness and success.

  2. Simplified maintenance and editing in Squarespace from anywhere. If you can double click, point or type, you’ll be able to edit a Squarespace website. Uploading photos to a gallery is fast. And don’t worry, you’ll be able to add meta tags and page descriptions right within the platform. (PS - when I help design your website, I provide you with a hour of free personalized training to get your started).

  3. One dashboard. Squarespace I would like to say is your one stop shop for your website. Everything in Squarespace is there for you in one place. Your domain, photos, analytics, pdf files, products (if you are doing ecommerce) - everything.

  4. Blogging and Newsletters are all a part of Squarespace. Blogging. Events/Calendars. Email Marketing. Simple and Easy with Squarespace. Once you realize the immense capabilities of Squarespace, you’ll never look back.

  5. The Control is Yours - With Squarespace there is this “peace of mind” knowing that the website is really controlled by the customer. To be able to quickly edit and change information on a website, or add photos to the gallery is revolutionary. Sometimes it takes just as much effort to fill out a support ticket to make changes, when the customer could easily do it themselves, and then they don’t have to worry about checking to see if the changes were made correctly either.

  6. Fully Customizable. This is a bonus. A full customizable website in Squarespace? Yes, Squarespace has templates you can use, and templates you can purchase outside of Squarespace, however, it is in my opinion, fully customizable. There are tools, widgets, coding and resources available when creating a website for clients. If they are looking for something very specific, 99.9% of the time there is a work-a-round for it.
